Queensland Downstream is committed to operating responsibly — for the environment, for the communities we work in, and for the long-term resilience of Australia's resource economy.
The energy transition is one of the defining challenges of our generation. Sustainability is not a section on a website — it is a condition of operating responsibly in this sector. Queensland Downstream's commitments span four areas, with policy statements published as the business progresses.
We operate to standards that protect the landscapes and ecosystems we work within. Every project is designed with environmental responsibility as a primary design consideration, not an afterthought.
Australia's energy transition is underway. Domestic processing capability is part of a credible transition strategy — reducing import dependence while the long-term energy mix evolves.
Regional Queensland communities are the host of our work. We are committed to operating as a contributor to those communities, not just an operator within them.
Queensland Downstream acknowledges the deep and continuing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to the lands, waters, and communities of Queensland and Australia. We commit to engaging meaningfully with Traditional Owners as a foundation of how we operate.
Our Reconciliation commitment will be formalised as the business progresses, with engagement protocols, partnership frameworks, and reporting commitments published in line with sector best practice.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work and pays respect to Elders past, present, and emerging. We recognise the deep and continuing connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to country, culture, and community.
Formal policy documents will be published here as the business progresses. Documents in development include:
